As part of our on-going efforts to stop Puppy Related Sadness and at the same time keep the Rabid Puppies distracted from their latest orgy of destruction, we have selected John C. Wright's Swan Knight's Son as the Puppy of the Month.
The monthly selection was announced two weeks ago in order to give everyone time to read the book and participate in discussions on day one. Of course, as an informal discussion group, everyone has their own style. Some high achievers read chapter by chapter through the month, some read the entire book and works by related authors, and research the story. Some have even informed me that they use the Book Club as a means of determining whether a book is even worth buying at all.
However you read the latest Puppy of the Month, or even if you don't read it at all, you're welcome to join in the discussion. We here at the Book Club are fans just like you. We have no official connection to the organizers of either the Sad or Rabid lists; we just have a desire to read and discuss some great books that we feel deserve more attention than they are likely to receive at other literary discussion sites.
